2013 – 2014 SITC Season
We are excited to announce our first full season of Shakespeare in the City. Registration will begin at the end of July.
ALL SITC PRODUCTIONS WILL REHEARSE AND PERFORM AT A LOCATION IN THE WEST ADAMS/MID-CITY AREA
SHAKESPEARE FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE (All ages)
Shakespeare’s plays explore all the “isms” and “phobias” that create conflict and cause damage – from a two-person altercation … to a global catastrophe. We’ll combine improv games and exercises with Shakespeare’s characters to create a powerful and dramatic piece exploring these themes. In addition to a performance at a venue to be announced, we will be performing our piece at libraries and schools throughout Los Angeles.
Rehearsals – Saturdays at a Mid-City location TBD, beginning in September
Performances – Early December
THE TEMPEST (3rd grade and up)
This was the first full-length play that LADC ever performed, and we are excited to revisit it with the Shakespeare in the City Players. From betrayal and oppression to forgiveness and freedom, this play has plenty of drama and humor for our Players to explore.
Rehearsals – Saturdays at a Mid-City location TBD, beginning in January
Performances – Mid April
