The Players’ Library

The following is a list of books that our Players might be interested in adding to their libraries.

“Shakespeare Can Be Fun” Series
A wonderful introduction to Shakespeare. They’re beautifully illustrated with children’s drawings of the characters and events of the stories.

Stage Fright on a Summer Night
Part of the Magic Tree House Series, this is a favorite book of all our Players.

“The Shakespeare Stealer” series
This historical fiction series follows the adventures of Widge, an orphan who ends up a member of Shakespeare’s troupe. Lots of interesting detail about what it was like to live in Shakespeare’s England.

William Shakespeare & the Globe
Filled with images, quotes from the Plays, and lots of information about the Globe, Elizabethan England and Shakespeare.

Shakespeare’s Globe: An Interactive Pop-up Theatre
A terrific choice for kids who love the “ology” (Wizardology, Pirateology, etc) series. It’s interactive and filled with gorgeous graphics and illustrations.

Hear, Hear, Mr. Shakespeare
Introduce your Player’s younger siblings to Shakespeare, and get them excited about being future Players!!
